We believe people deserve a plain-language explanation before legal language, whenever possible. Legal documents matter — but they should support understanding, not replace it. So every Trust Center document begins the same way: with a clear, human explanation of what it means and why it exists. The formal language follows, in service of that understanding.
Preserving presence means holding onto a voice for a long time — often that is the entire point. But how long data is kept, and how it is eventually destroyed, should be a deliberate, stated commitment, never an accident of how systems happen to work.
The Retention & Destruction Schedule is where we set that out plainly: what we keep, for how long, and what happens when you ask us to delete it. It is the companion to the Biometric Consent & Disclosure — consent explains what you agree to; this document explains what we do with what you have entrusted to us, over time.
The formal legal language of this document — including the specific retention periods and destruction procedures — is currently undergoing review with legal counsel. We are sharing this plain-language explanation now, in the spirit of transparency, rather than waiting in silence while the wording is finalized.
